Cozy Cost Saving Tips
- appliances are big energy consumers. Make sure you are getting the most out of them!
- Don’t run your dishwasher with just a few dishes in it – make sure it’s full. Unless the dishes are very dirty, the short cycle is probably sufficient. Also, most dishwashers don’t need to use extra electricity with a heated dry cycle. Be sure to check your dishwasher settings and save up to 10% of your dishwasher energy costs.
- When your old washing machine gives out, consider replacing it with a front-opening model requiring a fraction of the energy and water of a traditional top-loading design.
- Kick the tumble-dryer habit. When the weather is fine, dry clothes outdoors. They smell fresh and your energy bills will go down. If you have room, hang laundry to dry indoors on racks even in winter!
